- Focal point and culmination of a five year planning effort by the City of Canton
- Major goal was to introduce more planting into the downtown core and provide an urban park-like appearance
- Two buildings and an ice skating rink were replaced with large raised planters, fountains, sculpture and benches in the center islands
- Granite curbs and brick pavers were used throughout to insure long life with low maintenance
- Ornamental street lighting, street trees and decorative street furniture were used to unify the project
