Mark Kline is a founding partner of the firm. He has, for his entire career, focused his expertise in the field of Parks & Recreation. His passion for the development of parks spaces and facilities balanced with an appreciation of natural resource systems, were nurtured at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. As a planner of eight years at ODNR, he managed and implemented a diverse scope of recreational and land use and management projects.
As Parks & Recreation Studio Leader for the firm, Mark oversees the planning, design and development of diverse and sometimes specialized parks facilities projects throughout the Midwest. The majority of Mark's professional focus in recent years has been assisting a number of communities in the redevelopment of urban waterfront brownfield project sites, including remediation and redevelopment efforts on the Whittier Peninsula in Columbus, Ohio and Riverscape Phase III Entertainment Pavilion and Bike Hub Facility development in Dayton, Ohio.
Many of Mr. Kline's parks planning and design projects have been recognized by: the Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, including Miamisburg Community Park, Oxford Uptown Parks, M.L. "Red" Trabue Park, Scioto Riverfront Amphitheater, Alum Creek Amphitheater; Indiana AIA with an Honor Award for the Garfield Park Master Plan; and most recently as part of the design team for the new Grange Insurance Audubon Center nature education facility, with a Cincinnati AIA Committee on the Environment Sustainability Award.
Mark is a regular speaker at regional and national conferences, presenting at such annual events as the Ohio Planning Conference, Ohio Parks and Recreation Association and National Recreation and Parks Association. He received his bachelors in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University in 1977 and has been a Registered Professional Landscape Architect since 1980.
